Tammy ( Hc in 3-D

Hello Folks,

Sorry if already posted.Best regards,
EL

=========================
Hi Edo, there are great movies that no matter how many times you have saw them , it´s always a pleasure to take a peek, same with pics . These Tammy ones are classic in the group and bring back great memories, the Hacienda arch one, wow, this arch area was constructed pic by pic, slide by slide, one detail coming after another with great excitement, still remember Calico´s composite with Betty Russel holding the cross at the top of the arch. Not to mention the BY arch background or the main driveway in the other pic.
Many thanks . By the way, which special pic or set of Spider Pool or Hacienda pics is your "Casablanca" ? Or top of mind ?
Cheers
Jose

Ok, bubblehead gave me the guilts

I'm intrigued about LA history and girls, so this is a great group for
me to lurk. I still don't know a lot, but here's a link of images you
probably all have anyway. But I posted!

Link here

Thanks loads, rockdrummer. Lots of good shots of the pool's details
there.
There's one photo there which was offered recently on E-bay, in the
original B/W version and just recently in a colorized version. It shows
two models, one blond and one brunette. They may have been ID'ed, I'm
not sure. In the color version, the pool's distinctive railing appears
blue. This may be accurate since what remains of it is painted blue.
The brunette also came out okay, but the blonde girl's hair came out
silvery grey. She looks like someone's grandma, albeit a very sexy
grandma!

spiderpool color slide

from Johnny B
--------------------------
Johnny:

Thanks for the nice slide. There are several more of her in the Tura Satana photo album.

She was once voted the least favorite SP model, but I like her pics. Part of the attraction may be, I admit, that they're in color.

Rowan
--------------------------
Johnny - I think what Rowan means is that slides of Tura = Nice colorful Spiderpool tiles.

Being a poolie means liking a SP pool slide/photo even if you don't like the model. And Rowan is a mega poolie.

Louise perhaps?

See attached, vote "yes" or "no", and have a nice holiday weekend everyone (in the U.S)!

One of the few pics that I’ll risk voting on. Yes, I think that it is Louise.

Can the group work their magic and put names to these
three ladies, their faces are familiar but i can't
think of their names.

Best wishes

Freysness
---------------------------------
Freysness -- This sounds like a group challenge on the TV show "Survivor", so here goes...

20c3_1.jpg: Ummm, I don't know.

nudefilingcabinet1.jpg: Looks like Peggy Winters to me. In support of my theory, I attach the following.

On_the_Rocks_004.jpg: Nice gneiss! As for the lady, I do not have a clue.

Well, at best I scored 33% (and probably mis-identified the rocks) which means I will have to go before the tribal council unless some other entrepid group member bails me out so I won't get kicked off the island.

Edo - Compare your D25 with the attached and let me know if you think they are the same lady from the same set. If so, the model is Senorita Murrietta and it is a ntm photo. Thanks.

Bettie K and Donna Brown knotty pine set

Long time no see the index for the DonnaB&BettieK knotty pine
pics...and also cant find it at the group. Just in case , this one can
maybe be a ntm (end of month aproaching) or an upgrade or nothing.
Newbies, the ladies are Bettie Kidder and Donna Brown, and the
location where the pic was taken is ( or supposed to be) at Jack´s
house in the Spider Pool estate. The room was covered with knotty pine
panels after a fire.
Cheers

Jose:

Thanks for the photo. Here's the index and an extra to go with it. (That's another one I need to add!) Is it Jack's den? I don't think there's any doubt (markup reposted).

Rowan

------------------------------------------
Thanks bunches for the index and pics, and yes , there´s the Donna Brown solo too, well remembered , we discussed the positions of the pics , the fireplace reflected in BettieK mirror etc last year, hey already a year passed, wow.
Hey newbies , here´s an idea like it was in 1927 , and after the fire in the 50´s it got covered with knotty pine panels , the position of the ladies is sugested in aprox in the center just for an idea.
Cheers

Candy Paige sets

Thanks, everybody, for a very interesting and fruitful July. Here's some Candy as a reward.

There are a lot of Candy Paige outdoor photo sets that I find confusing. Here's an attempt to sort them out. I've attached an index of YA-065 as found, which includes some generic outdoor photos along with a few Spiderpool pics. The other index includes ten Candy photos that I think belong together in set N-35 (N035 by the Library of Congress system), seven 35Z pics, four "lizard" pics, and one that at first glance looks like part of N-35 but isn't. Help with fills or undexes or sorting or anything?

Rowan

=================================================================================

Rowan - A little Candy now and then goes a long way. I wish I could help you with your outdoor Candy conundrum. Except for the last thumbnail in your Candy Paige outdoors.jpg sheet, I have never before seen any of the others as best as I can tell.

But I can add two more images to the outdoor mix. Also, in the last couple of months, eBay has posted a number of color slides of Candy posing on some rocks -- aka Rock Candy.

The Candyland sets which I think have been identified thus far are:

Outdoors:
10C Wire fence duo
19C "Mannequin" duo
89C or 98C Dugout Relay Station Trio
CS-118 duo with unknown BR
YA-65 SP solo
Z5 Nude Ranch trio
Duo pitchfork or hoe duo (set # unknown)
Trio rock climb (set # unknown)
Miscellaneous SP solos
Miscellaneous H solos

Indoors:
12X novelty with ladder
RE-12 plumes/feathers
WR-35 ? solo
X-22 duo with strawberry BL
Duo with Busty

How does this square with what you have?

What is the Spider Pool? (Adults Only, Please!)

The golden age of American nude cheesecake and pin up photography stretched just a few short years from the end of World War II up until the middle 1950’s when the newly emergent men’s magazines began to assert their dominance in the marketplace.During that time thousands of women were photographed in just as many locations. Because this was a more conservative time when it came to the display of the nude feminine form, most of this business was carried on indoors away from prying eyes. Consequently the locations of these photo shoots are anonymous; any bedroom or photo studio looks pretty much like any other bedroom or studio. Even with outdoor locations such as a garden, the beach or a clearing in a woody glade there is nothing to tell us where they are. The Spider Pool is one of these outdoor nude photographic locations but it is unique for two reasons.First of all, it is one of the very few locations in all the photos that were taken in this era which can firmly be anchored in time and place. We know where and when it was. Secondly, it is a unique architectural setting which has a beguiling charm that would generate interest even if it had not been photographed in the company of nude, beautiful women. The Spider Pool was the creation of John W. (Jack) McDermott, a legendary director and screenwriter of the silent film era. The search for the location of the Spider Pool and the unlocking of its secrets ultimately became a quest for the story of Jack McDermott and his fabulous Hollywood Estate. This blog is a record of that search. Here you will find how the location of the pool was rediscovered, how and why it was built, and perhaps find the clues to even more mysteries. Our search has involved us in archaeology, genealogy, architecture, history, the movies, Jaguar automobiles, popular culture & of course many, many photographs of beautiful women, some now famous, some still obscure. The Spider Pool has been found but it has not yielded up all its secrets. And we have recently taken upthe search for another intriguing outdoor photo location that we have named“The Hacienda” plus other interesting locations related. You are invited to join us on the adventure. Please start at the oldest posts in the archives at lower right so the amazing surprises and search won't be spoiled!
